i have a 9 shot revolver that untrimed 32-20 brass fits the cylinder.
the cylinder has the crown on top of a circle and in the circle is E over LG
I vaguely remember if it has this E L G makes it antique??? i don,t remember the breed. LOL
anyone correct me.

And this has a crown on top of the circle. what does that mean??????? the 32-20 brass is a little loose , so it could be a 380???
thx
Louis

It would be a lot loose in a 380. Look into the dimensions of 8mm French Ordnance Revolver.
Are there shoulders in the chambers or just bored straight through? What are the bore dimensions?

With the crown, it was made after 1893. To have antique status, it will be necessary to be able to prove that it was made prior to 1898. That may be difficult. It is possible that maker's marks would help. And the caliber must not be one on the "no go" list.

How does the 32-20 fit the bore is a better query. 32-20 is a Tapered case...straight through cylinder would tell the tale.
32-20 in a Belgian job would be scary. 32-20 is a brisk round.

Could be a .320 European Revolver. If it does not have any identifying makers' marks, it would not qualify as an antique. Have a close look. Any sort of logo, initials, etc. would help.

,320 has a base diameter of .322"; .32-20 base diameter is .354" .32-20 isn't going to go in a .320 chamber. Maybe an 9mm/.380 using a heeled bullet?

IIRC the lack of crown means it predates 1893?

My intel says that a circle with LEG inside is a proof mark for 1811 to 1892.
Same marking EXCEPT with a crown on top means a proof mark for 1893 ,,,, forward.

So I agree with cyclone.
