Unfortunately I had to work and could not get time off (legitmately) for the Farky. It is the first match I have missed in about 7 years.
I have no doubt that guys are getting the 90's to perform well at short distances (The Farky is only a 500M match) but for my money, and because I simply have an intangible fascination for the caliber, I will commit to making the 6mm 115 Bergers do cool things for the short term. As we have discussed before, were it up to me, I would restrict F-Class to no larger than 6.5mm, thus creating an even greater impetus for development of greasy smaller bullets. We are long overdue for a > than.600 G1BC 6mm bullet, and I think it can happen without too much effort.
Matrix makes a very cool 117 grain and Marshall sent me the new and improved version to try (likely going to shoot the V-Bulls with them).
I keep hoping that the military will change the NATO standard round to something more conducive to ultra long range accuracy so that we can evolve past the 223/308 rut in both TR and FTR. I guess since I have not been acclaimed ruler of the free world yet, that is not something to count on anytime soon.
Cheers,
ian
