First the tap needed is 6x0.75mm and you need the base with the screws and locating pins and the mount with a scope, original or repro, a good press drill, make a cut in the stock for the mount and as you said, a bent bolt and ofc a mosin with a round receiver, high wall prefered and also the correct mesurements to position the mount are also needed. another option is to get an ex-sniper but they have the holes plugged and drilling weld can be a hard task. Third option and possibly the best, buy a mosin repro sniper, will save you all the trouble and they are for the most very well assembled. In all,it can be done but must be done right. Its up to youI was wondering how difficult it would be to mount a original mosin side mount scope. i know you need a bent bolt but i have a tap and drill set. im wondering how difficult it is?
