Good-day folks,
Spent a couple of hours at the local sporting goods store yesterday and I couldn't resist what looked like a real 91/30 sniper in the display cabinet. I asked the usual question, was it real or a clone? I was assured that the rifle was indeed the real deal, so out came the plastic! I've got a few pics to show. Underneath the upper front handguard written on the barrel in ink it says KO-91/30 and Made in Russia, and 7.62X56R. The serial numbers are all stamped with a KK3***. The serial number on the barrel is different but also has be restamped with the KK3***. The scope mount has been electrostenciled with the serial number for the barrel as well as the KK3***. The bore looks like it's never been fired, bright and shiney. The bolt body, butt plate, barrel, and mag floor plate(although struck through and restamped) are all KK3***. Now a couple of questions I must ask. Does it look like the real deal or a clone? If real what would the value be? And lastly, there appears to be an ugly red lacuer slathered all over her which I'm convinced is hiding a lovely piece of furniture. Would I degrade the value by removing the laquer, if so I'll leave it be?

They are selling for $650 plus/minus depending on who you call.
