92A1 Owners - What Holster?

Hi,

I was wondering what holster you Beretta 92A1 owners (or 96A1, or even 90 Two) are using and where did you buy the holster from?

As you know, there are tons of 92FS holsters out there but not much selection for the 92A1, even the M9A1 is easier to find holsters for. The slide and trigger guard is different on the 92A1 for any of you none 92A1 owners reading this.

I have even checked with some of the big custom holster makers and I haven't found anyone making them specifically for the 92A1.

I am pretty much just looking for a standard leather or Kydex OWB belt holster, nothing crazy.

I just bought a dash 2 and had trouble finding a level III holster for it for duty competition. Eventually I found a safariland 6280-73-61 which, with the addition of the 6001-1 sentry, meets my requirements. Nicholls Distributors is the exclusive Canadian distributor for Safariland but since they don't have a presence out west, I bought from "Cops Plus" on line. Haven't received it yet but they were quick to respond. good luck!!
 
I've been looking everywhere for one that fits the A1 as well. There's a modular one on DStactical that says it fits most pistols with or without lights. Might go for something like that.
 
I saw a fellow IPSC shooter with a bladetech holster for his 92A1. It may have been a holster for a 90-two. Double Tap, one of the CGN dealers has them. Maybe he could tell you for sure. Ghost makes a holster for the 92A1 but it is basically an IPSC only holster.
 
Thanks for the info everyone. Definitely not many options... I guess if it fits the 90 Two then it should work pretty well for the 92A1?

I'm not 100% sure but I'm gonna say no. My buddies holster for his 92fs will not fit my 90two. Check out the safariland fit chart. If it shows the same # for both guns then you are GTG, but I don't think so.
 
yea, I agree. PITA.

I have a Letson holster, its custom leather and quite nice. You can google it, he sells them off Ebay, but he also does them from his own website. Each one made custom and quite high quality. you can pick your leather colour(or combo) too. Not badly priced either, at around $70 at your door
 
looking for a holster for the girsan full size with rail. I see some differences with the A1 and the girsan in the shape of the trigger guard. Can anyone chime in on what they have purchased.

the girsan has a squared off trigger guard. The 92a1 has a rounded one from what I can tell. Am I going to run into issues? The blade tech competition holster sounds like the best one.
 
I was told about the trigger guard thing, but it fits well. I have used it for IDPA and its just fine. won't fall out if tipped upside down and given a little shake. And not too tight to impede the draw.

The only think I don't like about it is that it doesn't fit tight against the body like my other holsters.
 
I got a IMI Defense Z1250 Holster off of ebay, but it needed a lot of work with a file for the slide to fit inside. Nice holster now that it fits.
