92FS or 92A1

I'm planning on buying a Beretta 92 in the very near future and was wondering which model people around here prefer. I don't really plan on attaching anything to the rail, but it is a nice option to have. It also seems like the sights are a bit better on the 92A1.

So what say you, gun nutz.
 
I have a 92FS INOX that I will never sell I also had 96A1 for a short period of time (I don't even remember shooting it lol). It really all depends on personal preference and what appeals more to you. Round trigger guard vs square, rail vs no rail... IIRC the only internal difference is the recoil buffer which should extend the service live by regular 92's are just fine.
 
I bought the A1 since at the time it was the same price as the FS. The A1 has a few mods that the FS doesn't such as a recoil buffer, rounded trigger guard, one piece spring assembly (easier field stripping) and also has a rail so you can mount something on it.
Both great pistols though.

If you're not planning on using the rail, then why spoil the looks of a fine gun. JMO
I had the FS and traded for a Glock. Nothin' wrong with my Beretta, just wanted to see what all this fuss about Glocks was.
 
I went with the A1. I think it still looks beautiful. I might buy a cheap laser or something to use every now an then for a laugh at the range. I liked the sights better with the A1 and the few updated features. Both awesome pistols. I have massive hands too, so the beretta has always been top on the list for me.

I've owned an M92FS for about 2 years now. When I was in the market for one I had the option of the A1 as well. I wasn't partial to the rail. When both guns were on display in front of me I noticed that I was drawn to the FS immediately. The FS has a beautiful curvaceous look to it. The A1 has the same sleek lines, however it looked out of sorts. Its not as elegantly laid out and the rail and flat front trigger guard breaks up the guns aesthetics. Also I couldn't find a holster that fit the A1. In conclusion if your a shooter who has pride of ownership and can appreciate the a guns visual quality over its function then why not go for an FS. On the other hand, If you are the type of guy who needs his accessories then go for the A1.

If im not mistaken, you can change the front sights on the 92A1 but not the 92fs as its made to the slide.
 
Get a Beretta M9 ....IF u can find one lol. Second choice would be a 92A1 with rail. Most 92FS have the tappered dust cover, which is crap. I saw a Mint original Italian Beretta 92F for only $600 ...sold now....would've bought it if I didn't already own an M9.

Inox 96FS .40 are amazing also....or the 9.

Just because it has a stronger tapered dust cover makes the pistol crap? Wow thanks for contributing the wisdom.
