92FS Or a G17

Having owned both... G17 hands down if you can only have one
If you have small hands, don't even consider the 92FS
Of all my guns, my G17 sees the most action, by far
Fun to shoot, easy to use, indestructible and brilliantly simple in terms of cleaning

I disagree except with the comment about hand size. If you have small hands, the 92FS will be uncomfortable to shoot, I would look towards the compact 92 if hand size is an issue, grip comfort should be first and foremost in your mind right now.
My opinon, the 92FS is a more sofisticated and classier gun. Perhaps, not as reliable as the Glock, I've had locking block issues but any new 92FS will come with the improved locking block.
Also, comparing the two is like comparing apples to oranges, a Volkswagen to an Audi. Glocks have polymer frames, the 92FS does not, the weight alone will increase comfort in shooting with the 92FS. When compared side by side the Glock feels blocky and like a utilitarian service pistol, the 92FS in contrast feels like a work of art.
Although there isn't as much aftermarket stuff for the Beretta you will find a substantial amount so, I don't think that should be a major deciding factor.
Otherwise, you really need to handle both, see if DA/SA is okay for you, maybe you will hate the trigger on the Glock? You really need to get your hands on both and play with them a bit.

I've shot both, I own a G17. 
If you have small hands, X 2 on the no go for the 92. I have small hands, and the 92 is one of the bigger handgun grips I've handled. Bigger than the Sig 226, on par with the CZ 97. Doable, but not the greatest.

If you have small hands, go with the 92FS. They are both great guns, all it comes down to is which one feels good in your hands or which one looks cooler in your persepective.

I can't tell you what to get, but my personal preference would go to the Beretta. I personally never cared much for Glocks. If find them too light to begin with and the grip, well, I don't find it very comfortable to begin with.
Also, I don't like the safe-action triggers, and I find that disassembly on the Glock is a little awkward as compared to the Beretta.
However, as I said I can't make the decision for you but the single best piece of advice I can give you is to go out to gun shops and handle the goods. You might find that what you prefer the feel of is not even something you originally considered.

Owned a Beretta 92FS Stainless and didn't really care for it too much. Felt like I was hanging on a tableleg, and my mitts are on the bigger side.
Glock was alright, alot better with the Hogue grip.
Check them both out and see how they feel to you and make your decision

I've shot and owned both, but they are 2 completely different animals. If this is your first pistol, it'll take you sometime to get use to either. You'll definitely feel more recoil from the Glock because it's polymer, but for the money they're going for right now, I'd go with it over the Beretta.

I have owned a Beretta 92FS, but now own both a Beretta 90-Two and a Glock 17. With having both the 92FS and newer 90-Two, I prefer the 92FS over the 90-Two due to only one difference and that being the shorter trigger pull of the 92FS compared with the 90-Two. Comparing the 90-Two with the Glock 17, both are reliable "combat ready" semi-automatics. Neither is meant as a competition pistol. While comparing the site picture of both handguns, I have to favour the Glock over the Beretta, as the 90-Two has a much larger site picture. My preference is, of course, personal as I prefer a tighter site picture when plinking or shooting paper. If anyone is interested, I am mulling over putting up my 90-Two for sale, as I am reverting to revolvers over semi-automatics. If you want, make me an offer in what you see below:

Both are good pistols. I owned Beretta 92 series pistols when they, the BHP and S&W 59 series were about the only hi-cap 9mm pistols around. [Yeah, back in the day when we could legally own hi-cap 9mm double stack pistolas...]
Anyway, my interest in Berettas waned when I first discovered the CZ75 [yeah, way pre B]. They and later the BHP, which fit my hand way better.
Have owned the G17, too & it fits my hand way better than the table leg grip Beretta. I currently don't have a G17 either. So, on the choice between the two I'd vote for the G17
But seriously, find what fits your hand best and go for that. Might not be either of those choices. I'd check out the BHP, the S&W M&P and a few others, too.
