Just bought this gun and am unsure if it was the correct choice. Spent to much on guns this past year so an M4 was out. Anyone think I made a good choice? Will be using it for 3 gun and with my Glock and DDM4V5. Will the shotgun be a good addition?

its the carpenter, not the tools that build a house.............................im sure you'll do fine, My new versa max is a beaut, but i considered the mossy as well

Seems decent read about some issues cycling light loads. Bought it from IRUNGUNS and am still waiting to get it, they said third week of February so it should be soon. I will post a range report after I take it out for a rip.

Where I come from we use pump shotgun only. The mule can step on a pump gun and you can still fix it back with a hammer. Semi automatic gun not good for working... weak mans gun. Rich gringos

That is too funny El Camino!!! You had me laughing out loud.

Fine choice for your first.

My first choice was a 930 as well and it served me well once I broke it in properly.

I have since moved on, but it sits in my safe as I cannot bring myself to sell it. Far too many fond memories.

Maybe the M4 one day...... or a Mesa Tactical Urbino stock and a few more upgrades for this one. pretty sad when you don't even have the gun yet and are already thinking of all the extras :)

I've also ordered one from Irunguns. Everynight I am looking up mods and can't wait to get mine in and start making it mine. They arrived in the country on Monday, so hoping that it will be in my hands real soon.

I don't currently own a semi-auto "Tactical" SG but have considered getting one of these.
My only fear is how fast I would burn thru 00 Buck (required at my Range) and the pain to my wallet. Shooting my buddy's 14" M4 opened my eyes....

This is my rendition of the SPX as I could not find one in Canada. The mag extention is full of epoxy and has been sold, the second picture is as it is now with the magazine cap on and legal with original capacity. It still is a lot better than just the old Home Defence it used to be. It also eats everything I feed it.
Hope you like the pics.

I owned an SPX. Zero complaints. Nice cheap semi-auto shotgun that works once you clean the recoil spring (new it's packed with sticky grease that might not cycle light loads very well.)

I bought one and sold it without firing.
I just ran slug changeover drills with it using snap caps a bunch of times and determined in that time it was not for me.

For slug changeover, it's very Mossberg-ish, in that you loose two rounds whether doing a double or single slug changeover starting with one in the chamber.
My 590 is the same, so it's not a huge issue for me, but worth considering since it's not the case with many other semi-auto shotguns.

More concerning, is that the bolt release button becomes a "jam my gun" button when there are two or more rounds in the magazine and the bolt is forward.
Should we press it in that situation? No, of course not.
Might we? Perhaps.
Do I want a gun with a button which, if bumped at an inopportune time is certain to cause a difficult to clear malfunction? Certainly not.

That's the extent of my experience and thoughts on the topic.
