since we're in the black section i will give my opinion on them as a black gun..
The 930 ( SPX and Home Defence versions )
PROS:
-large loading port
-can ghost load
-can unload from the tube by pressing the bolt release
-SPX comes with good ghost rings and a rail
-light weight due to steel skeleton/aluminium receiver
-SPX comes with factory tac bolt handle
-good black finish
-not prone to rusting ( in my experience )
-rather reliable
-Ambi safety
CONS:
- lack of accessories, although SJ Hardware makes everything you would ever need to attach to the 930, so moot point
- can jam when it gets dirtied up ( just like anything )
The 11/87 ( all versions )
PROS:
-solidly made
-aftermarket accessories available
CONS:
-prone to rusting
-stupid loading port/bolt realease button location ( not condusive for easy/rapid loading )
-gas system o-rings will need regular replacement
-too expensive for what it is
-heavy
-non ambi safety ( although i believe this can be remedied? )
the 1100 comes in a tactical version i believe which has a tac charging handle and possibly ghost rings ?
Either way, as a black gun.. the Mossberg is the winner in my books.
The remington could be adapted, but its needless effort when you can just get an equivalent price and/or quality gun that will do the job out of the box.
