are these "how much is my gun worth" posts really that bad? aside from no pictures to drool over lol...I've noticed a lot more of them recently too
they educate the seller on a reasonable price, but I don't see it as a run around to the EE....very common theme on this forum seems to be about overzealous prices in the EE and items that never move, but then when guys for a reasonable price they get flamed too
but more importantly from my perspective, these threads also educate buyers (perhaps new gun enthusiasts more so), as prices on used guns are all over the map...I personally really enjoy these discussions on prices (especially with pics) because it helps me learn how to evaluate at gun shows/EE/mewe/various other forums

That's what I thought. Might be a buyer checking if the asking price is fair. I've done it myself.

Sometimes a certain fire arm does not appear on the EE very often and a buyer or a possible seller does not have anything to gauge the price he is either looking at buying or what he can expect to offer to sell a certain model .
The EE can be a good gauge of what is a fair price , a steal of a deal or over priced and the condition of same in relation to the asking price .
Fire arms that sell in 10 to 20 minutes or less are well priced and the price and type and condition reflects the short amount of time it takes for the Big " SOLD / SPF " gets added to the add . I have missed a few because I was not on the site before it was sold ..............
Sellers should understand if their item does not sell quickly and it is an item in demand that their price is to high in relation to the item and possibly it's present condition and adjust the asking price or just remove the item after a reasonable amount of time has passed ,, just my 2 cents .
