Anyways, there is a reezun I don't have taste buds fur said note in the title.
Finally found a rear stawk fur this gal and gartzs it awn.
While waiting fur uno tuh expose itself I did the lern'in awn'oww tuh mount
some Weaver bases.

Bit oh pizz'in around so frunt and rear mounts sit flat tuh one t'uther.
Much to me dizzmay I can't zero in on the bore sight.
X'airs sit midway between 9-6 o'clock.
Run out of windage and elevation adjustment.

Figured fur chit and giggles to turn the front base around and gain'd zipp-ohh-lahh.

Now I need to figure out oww to file the base of the rear base.

Need sum CGN'rzs insight?

Open sights arrr out of the question.
 
Maybe Burris Zee rings with inserts would get you a zero.
Drilling and tapping older 99s are one of the jobs that gives me grey hair - and that is with a Forster jig, so at least the bases will be in line.
The rear tang drops downwards. If the rear base isn't in the right spot, an elevation problem is guaranteed.
 
I just did a 99 takedown (250-3000). Don't worry, no collector value as there isn't a speck of bluing anywhere.
Used a vintage one-piece Williams mount, ring set-up. Utilizes one of the rear peep sight holes. Turned out well.

I don't have lows, I needed a pair of them today myself and came to the conclusion that Goldilocks musta sold em all.......had to steal from peter to pay paul so I can shoot tomorrow.....

I never go to salmon arm, but I should, 3 good friends all built the same airplane up that way, one on wheels, one on floats and one amphib......I got the plans for the plane and 30 000 pop rivets........need some inspiration on the assembly of it all

Well I tawt I'd update thread a wee bit.
So I skratchitt Heuy Luey and Dewy and remembered I had n'udder scope awn this set up and it
bore sighted in just fine.

Not the happiest I pewt a Bushnell on'er, but it will be like this furr a bit until I can find a wee Lewpy.
I guess that old Leupold 2x7-28 jest ain't gartzs the mewvmint like the Bushnell.

Dang it awll. It looky'd so sweet. Old 99 with an old Leupold.
