I have a 308 lever action Savage (99) I was wanting to remove the wood stock and replace it with a synthetic stock, I was hoping to find and use a tactical stock, or at least something that looks like a tactical stock.

Anyone have any ideas and or know where I can get a synthetic tactical stock for a lever action savage?

I don't think anyone makes a synthetic for a 99 and putting a tactical on one would be an abomination.Mossberg makes a tactical lever in .30/30 now and while it is dog ugly,it would be better than ruining a 99.

MPI makes one.

If you don't like the looks of a classic, sell it (to me lol) and buy something that turns your crank. Seriously I have never seen a synthetic stock for the 99. They probably exist but as already stated expensive due to lack of volume of sales. Let me know what you have if you do want to sell though.

I was wanting to make it look like a sniper rifle with rails and bipod. I know its not a bolt action.

God just killed a kitten.

Don't listen to the hecklers who themselves act like 12yr old's sometimes, its your rifle do to it as you please. As long as it puts a smile on your face every time you squeeze the trigger it does not matter what anyone else thinks of it. Your idea is not my cup of tea either, but its your rifle and your not doing anything to it that is not reversible, so have fun with it.

Synthetic stock on a 99?

My mind is blank right now, I don't even know how to imagine what it would look like?

A tactical 99, we've joked about it at the collectors forum but never really did it, make sure to post pics, they'll get a kick out of that. (Or hunt you down).

I would keep the 99 as is, as you won't find a cost effective option for doing what you want, and, although accurate and a classic and all of that, it likely won't perform to "sniper/tactical" tolerances. Keep it, and put the money you were going to spend on tacticalizing/sniperizing it in to a bolt action that is already "tactcal" and shoots well like a Weatherby Axiom, or get a stevens 200 and slowly modify it to suit your purposes

I was thinking of finding a 308 bolt action that I could mod into a tactical sniper rifle for sniping deer in deer season. Then I already have a 308 just that its a lever action. I want to beable to buy rounds at any store not have to order them from the internet.

I want an adjustable rifle stock with adjustable cheek piece, a good forward stock with rails and a good bipod.
