well guys, I have had a craving lately to buy a 9mm 1911 style hand gun and need some expert advice and opinions.

I have a M&P in 9mm as well as a colt AR15 in 9mm and it is a great caliber and is also affordable. I also have a kimber pro covert in 45acp (one of my favorite handguns to shoot which is why I want a 1911 in 9mm)

so what are my options here in Canada and what stores can I get I get one from. also if you guys could give me ruff price ideas that would be awsome.

cheers,
Justin

I am in a similar situation as you and just found out that a Canadian company makes 1911's in 9mm. They are called Dlask and are located in BC. Prices are comprarable to the Kimber I was concidering.

From what I have read on here they are excellent quality and good to deal with.

I'm in the same boat!!
I had my eye on the STI ranger that ARMCO has in stock. I've held one at a gun store and it feels really nice but I haven't shot one yet. You'll be looking at 1300 plus

There is one in the EE forum right now.Its a STI Ranger II.One of the nicest ones out there. Its selling for a great price too.;)

Wes if I give you now what the gun will sell for next December...wanna deal.:D Just consider the future value of money and you will be getting it today.

Take Care

My STI Ranger II was a great gun. Very accurate, reliable. STI quality was great but I did find without gloves the STIpling treatment the front strap gets was pretty aggressive for my tastes.

At the end of the day tho, I liked my P226 alot better.

That chainlink scalloped front strap is the reason I sold my NIB Trojan 9mm before ever firing it. My Springfield 9mm is sweet and I've got a deposit on one of the new Kimber shipment in 9mm coming to Reliable (9's and .45's) If it's anything like my TCII I'll be happy. Also the guys at italian tell me they have a Kimber shipment coming soon too.

I fine the chainlink scallop,s on the front of the STI worse than useless. I can hardly feel it. If it was not there at least you could checker the front strap.

Just curious because I find it irritating. Do you do a lot of work with your hands to not feel it? I do mostly office work now.

Holy crap.

If you find it that bad, all you have to do is cover it in grip tape. Or wraparound grips.

I am thinking of buying the Nighthawk Talon II in 9mm that TSE has. Pricey, although that is fine with me, as long as the gun is stone-cold reliable.

How come the 9mm is $500 more than the .45? I don't see much need for a bob-tail up here where there's no concealed carry to speak of.
