How does your combat commander shoot? Is recoil a little more noticeable than the full size?

It's a little snappy. Not like the big push you get when shooting the .45ACP on the same platform.

I also have a Star Model BM 9mm which is like a Colt officers model [even shorter than the Commander]. Star makes a nice, well made, accurate 1911 wannabe pistol. It's pretty snappy though, too.

Who did you get it from? Both of the Gov. models I sold last year had trigger work done. Maybe you have one of them?

I've had some lemons that had reliability issues. Most can be worked out. This last one is great, and even feeds hollowpoints perfectly. The trigger is so light I have a feeling someone has worked on the gun.
Yes the recoil is negligible. I had a Fusion barrel fitted and it's alittle heavier so a pleasure to shoot.

I shoot a 1911 in 9mm. It does have problems feeding my HP's but it is coming back from Gunnar's so I expect no such problems when I receive it. Its just cheaper to shoot and reload. Although I do have a para .45 on order, I do expect to shoot the 9mm more often. As I can bring fewer calibers of bullets to the range and still shoot multipl guns (my glock)

One thing I have noticed about 1911's and that is OAL affects feeding, mine didn't like SWC till I played with the OAL.

I'm not sure about Paulinski but I've shot my home range's Trojan 9mm some and it's a tack driver despite being a rental pig and having had way more ammo put down the barrel than most any private owner will ever manange in a lifetime. And still even at this point after all that use it's solid when locked up in battery although it has a bit of a rattle in the mag or somewhere when locked back.

All in all it's a solid performer from what I've seen and I wouldn't mind one of my own at some point.

The custom Colt 9mm 1911A1 I have was a pain in the butt to get to reliability but when it happened I was in heaven. I am a big fan of Browning high Powers but I now prefer my custom Colt 9mm 1911A1. As another shooter said I have/like my Star BM an awful lot. Regards, Richard :)

Richard...... Shhhhhhhhh, the Star B, BM and BKM 9mm's are a relatively well kept secret. We don't want everyone wanting to have one.... ;)
