Anybody try this? What is your charge wieght? I was loading 5.4gr but seems kinda hot. Will 1/10th of a grain lower make a big difference? Shot pretty good, but seemed like it was pounding the slide back.

I had to make do with whith what I have. Just wanna know how much 1/10th of a grain less will reduce recoil, or should I drop it 2/10ths. Also it would be nice to be able to use Alliant Steel for 9 mm, I have a surplus of that too. The 800x did shoot good but just to heavy of a recoil.

Just wondering how much difference a 1/10th of a grain makes. I can drop it 2/10ths to the starting load. But didn't want to go too low. Drive to the range and be disappointed. Some of the starting loads I did in the past didn't cycle properly.

Typically 1/10th is very little difference in most powders I use. Chrony can only try to tell difference.

Post 4? What was pouring out?

If you think it's slamming the slide back then drop 0.2 grains and try those. Most of my 9mm's haven't been overly picky and will cycle pretty much anything loaded within book min and max. Try 5.2gr but only make 20 of them to test first. Make enough of the 5.4 or even some 5.3 to take with you as well. If you have other guns then even if the lighter ones don't cycle well you can still play and the trip won't be a waste.

I use 800x in 147gr subsonic loads for my AR and they work well but I've never tried them in a pistol. I usually use titegroup or bullseye for 124gr loads.
