9mm all metal

My Kimber 9mm Stainless Target II has been utterly reliable and very accurate. I've had a few and with good mags I have found 9mm 1911's shooting RN ammo to be nearly jam proof plus they can be tuned up with a trigger pull that most others can't match.

A newer production FN Hi-Power.

Seriously one of the best 9mm handguns out. A newer production, FNHP is just as reliable as any poly pistol from the last 20 years. Made of steel, new magazine technology puts it on par for SHTF capacity. Mec-Gar has OEM style flush fitting 10/16 mags. Once you fire a true SAO pistol you just can't call anything else good.

92FS Inox - easy choice (if you have good sized hands). I have 3 92 variants and a 96 and they all feel "just right" in my big mitts. Oh, and the op rod is plastic, but that gets changed to a metal one as soon as I get them in the front door ;) ;)

Girsan makes there clone of the 92 they have the steel guide rod and are 2-300 cheaper. From what I've heard, the Turks make a nice firearm. The also have the "compact" version of the beretta with a 1/4" barrel reduction.

Depending on how they feel in your hand, a CZ or a Spartan 1911 are quality all steel guns. I own a lot of handguns and shoot most of the 9mm. If I could only keep one, it would be the CZ. And it isn't even a Shadow version - which is nicer.

Polymer? Well, I just prefer metal. I like things that last. Metal lasts longer than polymer.

I have heard that the polymer pistols "feel better" because they tend to be lighter. I prefer the solid heavy feel of metal. Not that it should matter much with a 9mm, but a heavier gun should transfer less recoil to your hand.

Since I do not have to pack the extra weight around, it is okay. If I get tired of shooting because of the weight, I can just set it down and rest.

Yeah, I'm with you on that, my buddy's G17 has way more muzzle flip than my Girsan with the same load. Can't say I enjoyed it. If I had to carry it around with me all day, then it would be a different story. But for a shooter, I like the weight.

I own a Glock 20 its nice, but i take my 1911 or my Jericho 941 All Steel before i take the glock, 941 is the smoothest 9mm i have ever owned

I've heard this. Someone let me shoot theirs at the range and I must agree. Felt great in my hand, little felt recoil, and can't beat the feel of cold steal......until it gets warm.

Those of you who are recoil sensitive...stick with 22lr.
I enjoy both steel and polymer HG's. I'm waiting for someone to make a polymer revolver:)

I guess if you're shooting from a stall straight ahead and enjoy useless gizmos all over the sides of your pistols then it doesn't matter. The recoil thing is BS

.????
A heavier firearm will have less FELT recoil than a lighter firearm. Laws of physics my friend. Same amount of force applied to a heavier object will result in less movement. Maybe they didn't teach physics at your school?
