I'd look for brands you like then like mortgages go with whatever deal suits you best. Bulk generally saves you a few bucks but is a trade off between interest on your credit card vs volume you shoot if you don't have case on hand. 9mm has gone crazy recently, I always tried to buy at 9-12.50/box 50 (bulk per 1000rd+) depending on what ammo it was.
Brands I like (Brass or Steel cased)

Blazer
Sellier & Bellot
Federal
Hornady (less common here)
Barnaul (steel if you are ok with that)

I don't recommend Aluminum cases...It can cause you trouble unless you are careful. I had this happen and will forever avoid it from now on. occurred in a Semi-carbine that specifically said not to use aluminium ammo into, so I decided to use the rest of the ammo in pistols only the same thing happened in a glock 17. Common factor was a Amend 2 plastic glock magazine that seems to have a weaker spring....Still i'd rather brass or steel that wouldn't do what is pictured below.

Aluminum decision solved -------- No Aluminum

Thanks for the heads up

Check out Tiger Arms in B.C. and Tenda in Ontario. Usually the best prices. Be prepared to pay more these days due to world events and poor dollar.

If you can pay under $0.30/ round for name brand brass cased ammo including shipping and tax these days, you’ve scored big!

CCI Blazer, American Eagle, Winchester White Box, PMC and UMC are budget brands that are reasonable.

Another place to check for commercially reloaded ammo is Custom Reloading Service in Maple Ridge. Although these days, the savings aren’t that great.
