For a budget shooter like myself I am finding that it is very difficult to find 9mm non steel bulk ammo through any Canadian vendor. Prices are currently about 0.36/round. Other than making my own (which is not an option for me financially right now), what do you think? Is there anywhere in Canada where it's in stock and cheaper than retail price?

Even reloading companies are selling 124 grain 9mm for $152/500.

I'm assuming that this is just the nature of this sport.

Where it's in stock and cheaper than retail price is kind of an oxymoron. You won't find a retail price that's lower than retail.
Factory ammo is always expensive. Reloading doesn't have to be a high priced entry thing. $72 will buy you a Lee Hand press. $46 for dies. About $8ish for a shell holder. $33 for a powder thrower. Plus components(gun show). Data can be had on-line. Moot, if you just don't have it though.

Reliable Gun in Vancouver has Blazer 115gr for as low as $299.95/1000. Custom Reloads (also in Vancouver Metro) has 124gr. at $152/500. I've never tried Tulammo before but I have the same issue as I've read about with steel casings, not trusting them (and not always allowed on indoor ranges). DVC Ventures in Coquitlam will allow steel casings but not steel core. I wouldn't want to buy 1000 rounds to find out there was a bit of steel in the projectile. I prefer to shoot 124/147gr., but with the 0.30-0.40 per round, I might have to go with the cheaper 115gr.

Don't have the patience or the money for reloading on my own.

How much do you shoot a year? If it's over 5k and you can get cheap plated or cast bullets it's worth reloading. Otherwise your stuck in the situation your in right now.

I find the same issue with shipping. You can save a few $ by buying reloads but shipping brings the cost up to par with factory ammo at my local retailers. So for me, both options are expensive.
