Does anyone know of any 10 round .308 pistol magazines that just happen to fit the M-14?;)

I'm doubting anyone would go thru the efforts of actually building one.

Stupid laws (not just gun laws) are a symptom of both a broken Bureucracy and a society that will trade freedom for illusions of security.

Conact -- sorry to burst your buble that not a RO634 lower

That one lower ill never sell!!! from what i heard (might be bull)is that only 12 came in were supposed to be for york region police they decide not to take them and the dealer sells them to the public ( i bought mine at Ontario sporting) brand new and i got a wack of mags at the time too I did not realize how rare they were when i bought it i was a member at an indoor range at the time and wanted an ar15

Has there been an official CFO ruling on this or is this just a case of customs and the registry being conned? The law states that the magazines must be for pistols that are "commonly available", thus it would seem to me that in the absense of direction from the CFO, owners may still be subject to prosecution.

I thought it was the RCMP lab guys opinion that matttered and no the CFO???

I'm sure Questar can explain further but here is what they have on their site.

It's finally here... a 10 Round LAR-15 9mm Pistol Magazine!
R.C.M.P. have reviewed our submission and approved this magazine
for sale and use here in Canada...
Fits all LAR-15 9mm models...
10 round capacity... Polymer construction... Locks bolt open on empty mag.

it IS the rcmp cfo means nothing if the rcmp have approved it

it would be impossible for the cfo to do anything if the rcmp which are FEDERAL say an item is legal

Not good enough. It's a start, but I want to use full cap mags. I paid dearly for 32 round Colt mags, that's how many rounds I want load in each of them.
I want the whole pie AND I want to eat all too. Clear enough?

There has been a ruling on this... It was first reviewed and confirmed by CFC's Technical Branch... Who then referred it to the RCMP for their review and conclusions. It was then reviewed by RCMP Firearms Support Services Branch and approved by them as (and I quote): acceptable as "handgun magazines"

As for the "widely available" question, the gun need only be widely available (offered for sale), not actually owned in large numbers. The issue of widely available was acknowledged as having been met (by both CFC and RCMP) the moment we were issued IIC's and US Export Permits for quantities of these firearms and could prove that Rock River Arms was manufacturing and shipping them. We offer them for sale right across Canada and Rock River Arms widely distributes them across the US... that's pretty "widely available" :)

So I take it form the last part...(acceptable as "handgun magazines") that if they walk in on you at the range and see these in your AR you are toast.

IMHO it sounds like an awful lot to risk based on wishful thinking. Personally I'd like clear cut proof in writing that it is Legal to operate these in an AR in their un-neutered condition, so I could carry a copy with me in my rifle case along with the other paperwork.

They ARE neutered, to ten rounds instead of 30. This is the same as a beretta 92 pistol mag that is neutered to 10 from 15. The beretta storm Cx4 uses the 92 pistol mags and can therefore use 10 round mags. Funny if I remember correct if the mag is stamped with CX4 it has to be limited to 5 as the CX4 is a rifle.;) A pistol mag is a pistol mag and they are all limited to 10 rounds regardless of what they fit in.

Calum, where have you been for the last few years? Review the CX4 Storm or PC9/PC40 mag issue. The short version is once a handgun mag, always a handgun mag. There is no issue with using these 10 round mags in any AR.
