9mm ARs

Ditto buddy, me and you both. I was hoping that someone might design/produce a base for the C-products 10rd'ers at Questar?

Needed the vertical grip for the enormous recoil.

Questar has a newer version of the C Products 9mm AR magazines, just got some they have upgraded followers orange in colour and no fitting required on my RRA 10.5 9mm according to C Products website this is the follower they now use on the magazines they supply to Colt for the full auto versions. They still need the bolt open to load a full 10 rd mag but they worked great on rapid fire and you can wiggle them around and they will not pop out as the notch is better. I tried various loads from 115 to 147 grain factory with no issues.

But they are so darn short - I really wish I could track down a few of the polymer 10 rounders that were long...I have a few of the 10 round c product ones, and they work fine, except they will not hold open on the last round - I wish there was a fix to that.

So I gather the new C-Product ones are good... but they don't lock when the mag is empty...correct?

Just wondering how Questar can import 10 round AR mags or did they classify it as a pistol mag? If so, does that also apply to RRA mags? I'm looking for RR.

I'm trying to get mags for a Colt 9mm AR.

They will lock open when the last round is fired , inserting a full magazine with 10 rds in it it will not lock in to place without a hard slam. On another subject the new LAR15 - 223 Pistol magazines have been lengthened so you can load 10 in and insert it on a closed bolt with no problems.
They just need to do the same with the 9mm, I know Mark is constantly trying to improve the product like he did with the 223 mag.

So the new magazine with the new followers are good to go in RRAs? Do you have a lower with the magblock or the newer design that's specifically designed for 9mm magazines? I may just have to pick up a few this summer for "cheaper" shooting.

Epps have 48 new rock river arms "pistol" mags in stock. These are the new 10rnd. Metal type, not plastic. There add is at the top of the page. Allso 200 "pistol" 5.56 mags in stock as well.

Weird question but...

Is there any advantage for having a Ar 9mm over having my Ruger PC9 carbine?
The ARs look awesome and I would like to know if there is some reason for my possibly getting one of these too, or a CX4 9mm.
Thanks

Actually, I have 3, and none of them lock open on the last round. Colt mags will - there must be something with the follower in the C Products ones I have. I had heard there was some sort of fix, but I cannot find the article that addressed this issue.

can you switch the followers around? i know the colt ones have a little tab on the bac ....you could add it but maybe you could just switch them in the short term....i would go look but it early :D

I'm confused here. Are we talking about the new followers or the old ones? Can someone confirm this information?

1) old followers sometimes caused misfeeds, but locked back the BCG on the last round
2) new followers address the misfeed problem, but fail to lock the BCG back on the last round

Thanks

IMHO

C-products mags are junk - some work some don't. Mine won't feed last round - it sits too low for the bolt to strip it from the magazine, resulting in bolt locking on the empty chamber. The also don't hold the bolt open:rolleyes: - thats the 20/5 round mags.

My pre-ban Colts (with steel followers) 30/5 work excellent. The Pro-Mag (RRA) 10 rounders sometimes cause a double feed.

Nothing like Colt magazines for me.

So can I replace the plastic hanguards with a free float quad rail on a 9mm upper? The same free float rail I use on my ar15 in 5.56?
