9mm at Cabela's

I just bought a bunch and took advantage of the free shipping with purchasing the dollar minimum...

As for the recall - it was last year on a few batches. I gotta believe an outfit as large as Cabela's would be aware of ammo recalls and would not be still selling them (the affected lots) at present. But even in the event they inadvertently did not know, I am pretty sure they are large enough to be able to take back the recalled lots...

Here's the info from Browning on the recall

For the price and the low risk that we'd be stuck with recalled items, it is well worth trying it out. Can't be worse that the STV Scorpio I tried earlier in the summer, which costed more...

Winchester makes ammunition for Browning. This stuff should be pretty much identical to White box ammo. Maybe not as good though, Browning .22 is probably the crappiest I have used outside Thunderbolts. It comes off their M-22 line.

As did I..thanks gazelle...good price for sure! picked up 10 boxes..

Thanks for the tip! Worth a try, even if made by Winchester.

FYI, I don't see any info on the Browning site about a 9mm 115gr option for this ammunition, only 147gr. So, Cabelas may have listed it incorrectly. I'm hoping so, actually.

(and the 22LR stuff looks like a real gamble)

Free shipping, good price.
What's not to like ?.
Keep your order under 75#, anything over that won't be free from what I read on their site.
I made multiple smaller orders.
Worked before, don't see why it won't work now.

Picked up 10 boxes. Thanks for the heads up. Also bought the STV Scorpio from Tenda which seems to have mixed reviews on this forum but good reviews elsewhere. Will see how that goes.

I've out a few hundred rounds of the Scorpio down range, I am entirely impressed with it's performance. What are your grievances Gazelle?

Hey there,

Very rare do I encounter issues with factory ammo, but I had 6 dud rounds in 4 boxes of 50 so far (so 6 duds out of 200, which I know is not much, but I have had zero with Federal, CCI, PMC, Remington and even Winchester). Firing pin hit the primer, left a dent but the round did not go off. Wasn't even a squib. This was between my Ruger PCC and my FX9, both of which have eaten everything else without problems. Maybe I had a bad batch and maybe 97% should be acceptable but, I don't know...the last time I had these kind of issues it was with Maxxtech (not Magtech) brand. But I haven't used the Scorpios since.

That said...for anyone interested, Tenda has some loose/bagged Scorpios for sale - a bag of 50 for $19.99. Apparently the bulk box they had them in got damaged, so they are selling bags of 50 loose. May be worth trying out in case my issue was with a specific lot/batch.
