average price i see for dirty, mixed brass is $30/1000. for stainless tumbled i would pay 40-45. deprimed has no added value to me, so i will not pay for it.
dirty , is worth scrap brass price + 10% [ in your area ] . cleaned & deprimed , whatever you are willing to pay somebody to do it for you . head stamp sorted , guaranteed once fired , nonmilitary , cleaned & deprimed is worth a bit more .
Range brass is often on the ground for a reason. As a rule if I didn't put it there, I'm not picking it up. Too many good reputable sources out there to take a chance on sub-standard.
9mm brass has a melt value of about 2.5 cents. If you can pick up 10 cases in one swoop, it's basically like picking up a quarter. What reloaders pay over and above that is just value added.
There probably will always be a market for empty casings, and there absolutely will always be a market for scrap zinc and copper.
I'd say even if you can't sell it now, with inflation, brass will always appreciate in value.
