9mm bulk ammo accuracy

I used to just buy and shoot whatever 9mm I could get my hands on. A few boxes of 115 grain White box Winchesters or UMC's here... a few boxes of 124 grain American Eagles or S&B's there....Needless to say that I have never been consistant with my groupings.

I have now decided to pile up on one ammo only (I am going 124 grain) to see if I can improve my accuracy. Just wondering if you guys consider one bulk 9mm consistently more accurate over the others? The following bulk 9mm in 124 g. seem to be readily available for more or less same price:

1. WWB
2. S&B
3. Blazer Brass
4. American Eagle
5. PMC
(missed some?)

So which one is more accurate out of your guns? Don't care which burns cleaner or........just more accurate. Thanks

whichever your gun likes the best. stick to 124 gr and use a rest (shooting bag), and test each type under controlled conditions.

i use AE and also Wolf reloads from SFRC, with no problems. Find one, and stock up, as they are readily available NOW.

I knew that is going to be one of the answers. LOL! But seriously, some have to be inherently better than the others..

+1, what he said.

I shoot 3 different 9mm pistols (yes at pistol ranges), so not that easy to find which factory load each gun likes. Whether or not at 10-15 meters ammo accuracy matters at all or it is all about the shooter.......well, I guess that is my question.

Some pistols don't like S&B 9mm as it's longer then most other factory ammo.

So, yes. Buy a few boxes of each and fire at least 100 rounds with each one on your list with all 3 of your pistols. You'll have a really good idea which ammo each gun like's best.

The most accurate stuff i've used is Speer Lawman 124gr TMJ

I have definitely found some 9mm ammo to be more accurate than others out of the same pistol and the same shooter, on the same day, at the same distances, back to back to back testing.

So far on any given day I seem to shoot the best groups with Wolf 124 gr TMJ, followed by S&B and Blazer Brass. I'm still working through some feeding issues with the S&B in my CZ SP-01 Shadow. I'm considering learning to load my own, but likely not until this winter.

I absolutely agree with you, they do shoot different, even at 10 yards. In fact, I have shot them all, plus a few that I didn't mention because I have only shot them in 115 g. like UMC...etc. Its just that I have not shoot them in required quantity to be able to establish a repeating pattern.

I think I have figured that out with respect to factory rifle ammo brands, but not 9mm's.

I've had good results with wolf reloads. WWB and Blazer Brass were ok. Nothing beats home rolled reloads though. I don't think I'd ever hope for better than 2-3" at 25m with factory bulk ammo. That said, 99% of pistol shooters' limiting factor in shooting is their technique, not the ammo.
