9mm bullets pushing back into case?

I' ve been noticing that with some of my 9mm reloads that the bullets seem to push back easily into the case after being seated.

I think I might have flared the mouths of the brass too much and maybe it's causing this..

Anyone else have this problem?
 
3x on crimp but don't over do it. A sufficient crimp should barely mark your bullet.
Also would be wise to double check COL on remaining unfired rounds: each round with a pushed back bullet is a potential hand grenade, a "Power Pill" indeed!!

9mm shouldn't need crimping to hold the bullet in the case.

It is possible you are over crimping....

Adding more crimp if it is a factory, or tapered crimp, will also squeeze the bullet. Issues arise because the brass case springs back to a larger size while the bullet will not due to the materials they are made of, especially with plated or lead bullets.

I will take a crazy stance and recommend that you use as little flaring/belling of the case mouth as possible, and back your crimp right off, until it barely does anything, but removes any remaining flaring, and the bullets just feed.
 
Expander too big
case walls too thin
bullets too small

the bullet should be held firmly in place by neck tension
and then you add the crimp
 
I once bought some plated bullets which would not hold correctly by neck tension/interference fit alone, they failed the "thumb test"- a potentially dangerous condition. Surprisingly they measured only .353"... These days I shoot 80% cast from the 9mm sized to at least .356", no crimp just enough to remove/straighten the flare. Economical, consistent, and more importantly- safe!
