This is about purchased ammunition but you guys are the ammo experts!

At the BB on the weekend I had 2 really bad FTFs. Slide went 95% forward and locked solid. It took several very hard knocks to free it. Cost me 20 seconds on one of the practice stages and stopped the other.
I have run close to 1400 rounds so far of WWB 115 gr with not a single malfunction.
I have run 400 rounds of the Remington 124 gr UMC so far with out issues.
I measured over 1000 rounds of what I have left and the C.O.L is 1.1180 - 1.1085

I had a few Federals that I accidentally took as well and measured a few left overs and they are 1.1590 - 1.1420.

Could the much longer C.O.L have anything to do with the FTF?

The gun has been 100% reliable until these 2 incidents.
It was on 2 separate days. Gun started clean and we were under 200 rounds fired each time.

I am measuring all the rounds I have left. Have an IDPA shoot this weekend.
Hoping it does not occur again!

I had the exact same problem with a .45 pistol and reloaded ammo, constant jamming and feed problems. The problem was COL, I seated the bullets deeper in .005 increments and retested, once I found the optimum seating depth for that particular pistol I had no further problems.

Can't say I have had the problem with factory ammo though, I rarely use it:D
