Anyone know where I can get a 9mm conversion barrel for an M&P 40? I've been reading about the Storm Lake brand but I can't sem to find anywhere Canadian that has it in stock. Will a S&W 9mm barrel work? I found a site where a poster used a standard M&P 9mm barrel and the measurements were so similar that it worked

I just ordered my EFK Firedragon 9mm conversion barrel for my Hi Power through Bits of Pieces. They're an offical dealer for EFK though, but I still have to wait 2 - 3 months for them to get it. Only option I had. I don't know if they deal with Storm Lake or not, but unfortunately it looks like EFK doesn't make S&W barrels.

You might have to order a 9mm conversion barrel through Questar. It's not a cheap way to go, but you will definitely get the expense back in ammo savings. My SL conversion barrel is a little gem of machine work and functions perfectly. Keep in mind you also have to source some 9mm magazines.

People have put stock 9mm barrels in their .40s with varying degrees of success. Some find it works fine while others have problems after a few hundred rounds. The tolerances are close but not precise and S&W definitely recommends against the practice. Personally I wouldn't do it.

OD of the .40 barrel is slightly larger than the OD of the 9mm barrel. Same with the Glock, it will work but not recommended. The barrel won't seat or lock up on the muzzle end of the slide. The best way to go is with a conversion barrel. As per Tengoo, I wouldn't do it either.
