Lol, welcome to the madness :)
Quite honestly though, I would say 90% of competition shooters use some type of mag loading device,,, not because they are women or wear gloves at the gym , the reality is that if you shoot A LOT, loading mags is a pain in the ass,, that is all

I fit in this category. lol! I don't shoot tons by comparison to some of my friends, but I've shot about 40k rounds through my Shadow, and most was with a mag loader. I'd buy it again.
 
I’m just messing around. Use mag loaders if you want, I can load them just as fast by hand so I don’t bother. One less thing to carry.
 
OP, check out this video on pistol grip. It'll get you heading down the right path. Pay very close attention to the details.

Not back peddling. I still think mag loaders are for pussies but some of the pussies were getting offended. Then again real men shoot revolver anyways.

Then why are you here offering your unwanted opinions on loading semis? Go shoot your revolver, “ real man”. Way harder to open a cylinder than rack a slide and don’t hurt your palm banging out the empties.

Nice. If your mentor is an experienced shooter, the advice you get should be similar to the video content. Best advice I can give you for when you get to the range, is to develop the skills to diagnose your shooting early on. If you see a flinch developing, deal with it right away. Use the ball & dummy drill, etc. Your mentor should be able to guide you.

The reason for this is you want to develop the correct habits early, and not reinforce the bad ones.

Sample: A new-ish shooter came in with a new Walther PPQ, and was shooting poorly. I offered to check the sights, and found the gun was fine. This shooter ignored my advice, kept shooting poorly, and when I saw him next, found out he had adjusted the sights to compensate for his flinch. So every shot he took was "rewarding" his bad habits. When I shot the gun again, it was shooting a few inches high, and to the right.

So he was aiming top right, and happy when it was near the bullseye.

Now he had to unlearn his flinching. Very hard to do at that point!

I don’t hurt my palm firing 500gr bullets out of my revolver so I’ll be good.

At least I don’t have girly hands. Then again I guess the mag loaders help keep your hands nice and soft for all those International ##### Sucking Competitions you attend.

I won a bet with myself that he would be gone by the time I got home today :)

Not very exciting reading though. It’s for people who are permanently banned, not for temporary bans. And you can’t comment on it as it’s a locked thread.
