Any suggestions for projectiles that will work with the cz shadow and where to get them?
I was using aim projectiles in my glock and sig but they jamm in the chamber of the cz and the slide wont go into battery.

You have to reduce your over all length as cz's have tighter chambers. Try a shell with no primer/ powder and seat the bullet with no or very little crimp, then slowly reduce the OAL until it drops in and out of your cz chamber. Once you find your oal work up a new load for it
 
I thought about that, but that would increase the pressure wouldnt it?

The rem umc and winchester whute box 115 gr work perfect in it.
Think the cz also tends to shoot the 147gr better?
 
Overpressure is not an issue if you work up your powder charge normally from the starting charge.
 
It will increase pressure if you keep the same amount of powder, hence why I did start over powder wise. If your in the middle of the recommended powder Level I would just reduce the OAL only, but that's me and I live on the edge. I don't recommend it.
 
I have started reloading not very long ago, less than a month, and ANY C.O.L is ok for any 9mm if you stay witin the limits of 9mm which are 1.000 to 1.169
Yes pressure will increse but within those parameteres you will not blow up. I have asked this question to old time reloaders and they all agreed, you gotta use whatever COL works in your gun, again, always within the limits of 9mm to make the round work. That is it. Do not over think it.
Use your barrel as a gauge, and use the max C.O.L allowed by your barrel and start from there, if you follow the manual, the ammo will jam because the COL suggested does not necessarily means that is the only one you have to use.
Czs are knows for this, and you will have to reduce your COL, most likely this is true for Plated and Lead bullets.

I use the DRG lead 135 gr RN bullets in a number of 9mms and they are accurate. As mentioned, the throat of the CZ is shorter than some others, so bullets need to be seated a bit deeper. I find 1.120" works well in all my pistols.

Start low and work up the powder charge to find what gets the best results. You might be shocked to see what a difference there can be.

You'll probably end up around 1.09" oal for that bullet in that gun. Run a couple of test dummy rounds, drop-and-twist check them in your specific chamber (coat the bullet head with magic marker and rotate the round in the chamber to see if there is any scuffing from rifling contact). Obviously, do this with the barrel out of the gun. When you are sure the length is giving you clearance, drop your charge weight a couple of tenths and chrono to taste. Also check for pressure signs. If you don't have a chrono, ask around and someone will, I'm sure, be only too happy to put a few rounds over the screens for you.

If you do that it'll work just fine.

The profile of your selected bullet will affect what oal you go with...
You'll have to experiment a bit to find your best oal.
 
I've used the CamPro 124's and currently use the Berry's 124's, which are pretty much identical, but the Berry's are a bit cheaper. In my Shadow, I use 4.3gr W231, and an OAL of 1.087.

I hope that red on the slide stop is just paint and not the result of a slide bite. :p:p

By the way, is it simply for cosmetic?? or the red serves some purpose?

care to explain?
my reloads have worked in all the glocks ad sigs ive tried them in, but then i tried them in 2 shadows and they wont chamber properly, the slide wont go all the way forwards.
to be honest, i havent even tried them in my new CZ because i know they wont chamber.

i wouldnt wast time reloading at that price...rem UMC is $60 for 250 here.

thanks for the info everyone, im going to stamp out a few different charges on friday with a reduced OAL and test them sunday.
i bought this pistol for ipsc so i want it to work reliably for the course...if i have to run factory ammo so be it for now.

He just means your OAL is wrong.

It is painted red for a reason. I shoot quite few different pistols. Most have a single lever on the side - the slide release. The CZ has two. A slide stop and a de-cocker. I found that I sometimes hit the wrong lever when I wanted to drop the slide. I painted it red. Also did the same on a few other guns where there was more than one control that might led to confusion.
