Hi all,

I just got into reloading last month with the rcbs rock chucker supreme kit.
I got to the range yesterday to do some testing.
Campro 115 copper jacketed
4.1 grains of titegroup
CCI 500 pistol primers.

So I was finding my shots low about an inch and a half below bull .
Switching to factory switching s&b 124 9mm I was on target again.

If my load too light?
Campro calls for 4.5 grains with these 115 projectiles.

Should I just load at 4.5 and stop worrying about saving .4 grains of powder?

4.5 works in my pistol but I next checked the accuracy.

Your help is appreciated,

Cheers

I like the 115gr Campro's and just came back from firing 100 over 4.6gr of HP-38 and another 100 over 4.8gr of Titegroup in my Ruger SR9. No noticeable difference in POI or performance.

I've been using 4.1gr titegroup, 124gr campro, 1.150 OAL.
Works great in my sig, way more accurate than me haha

If you are trying to compare with the factory load your guns shoot well, the best way is to use chrono to match the velocity. it takes the guess work out of the tests. even though chrono is not as usual with pistols, in the long run, if you get into rifle and still reload, chrono is a good investment.

I find with most handloads, the poi will change with the load. That being said... sometimes but not always.
Do your ladder testing, pick your most accurate group and load a couple hundred of those. If they end up being the same accuracy as your tests, and the point of impact Is off from your sights, move your sights to your new load.

You don't mention at which distance these rounds are being shot at but CamPro's load similar to FMJ so 4.1gr is a little light. Try 4.4gr, it may change the POI without adding gobs of recoil.

I would also try some different bullet weights, you may find that a 124gr projectile shoots a little "flatter".

Shoot at 5 and ten yards.
Thanks
