Hello to all!
So I have a question for someone out there.
I have lots of range brass in 9mm. Some FC and some FC NT.
I assume that FC stands for federal cartridge but what about the FC NT?
When i try to reload the FC NT cases, the primer will not enter the pocket, so I assume there is a crimp on there. Anyone have any answers?

Federal isn't the only company using 'FC'. Prvi and Mexican military does too.
NT ammo uses smaller diameter primers, as I recall.

NT stands for Non Toxic.
The primers are crimped because the "clean" chemicals inside tend to push it out.

Also now a days for indoor specific shooting the ammo companies cater to cleaner air. Makes perfect sense. Who are their major buyers of 9mm, .223, .40 S&W and to a lesser extent .45ACP? Law enforcement. They may or may not use full-auto select fire firearms. The crimped primers are mainly for full auto use. If you check the NT rounds in 38Spl they won't be crimped.

I have a case of Winchester Ranger LEO .223 55gr softpoint. All rounds are neck and primer crimped. It's the same ammo the local PS uses for training.
