I have 9mm pistols and .357 mag revolver.

Anyone ever use 9mm (.356) bullets for your .357 mag or .38 SPL? I usually buy Berry's plated in both but I was pondering on trying .356 in my .357.

I know Ruger Blackhawks have combo kits that shoots both 9mm and .357 out of same barrel.

The only damage will be to your accuracy with the smaller 9mm bullets. MAYBE.

It might shoot them quite well.

Usually, barrels shoot lead better when it's a bit oversize.

Give it a try, you won't hurt anything.

Plated 9mm's work for me in a few different 38spl's. Loaded +P 38 spl velocities, they go where I point them. Though I haven't shot them for groups, they clang a 6" gong at 50 yards more often than not, and I'm sure the misses have way more to do with me than the ammo...

Just make sure you get enough neck tension to hold the undersize bullets in place. Don't load a couple hundred before you check.....;)

I will tighten my factory crimp die.

I may also try .38 in the 9mm too. Last batch of Berry 124 gr plated hollow points I shot thru my steyr were horribly in accurate. The sights are bad enuff for target but these hollow points were not even close. (titegroup 4.0 grains).

Will report when I try.

Thanks

I've done it.. I wouldn't repeat it.. The accuracy sucked as did the velocities (all over the map)... I was shooting lighter loads.. Hotter loads may work better
