I'm in the process of buying an Astra 400. It comes with some 9mm Largo brass. Anyone have any experience using 9mm Para dies to load this? At the base the cases are similar, and the length of the Largo cartridge doesn't seem that much greater than the 9mm Para. It looks as though it should be possible.

i have some good worked up loads for a Model A in 9 mm largo. ive been told you can use the para dies, but i use 38 super dies. its dimentions are 9x23. ive used starline brass, good and not thatb expensive.last time i got some it was 96.00$ per thou.

I shoot it in a Destroyer Carbine and use the Starline brass and Lee 38 Super dies like Beater. In a pistol I'd just use 9mm Luger loads, in the Destroyer you can go with 38 Super loads.

I also use 38 Super dies to load for my destroyer carbine. Makes a great plinker with cast bullets. I tied starline brass but found they were a little too short for my rifles chamber. Most measure around .900 in length. Got my hands on some 9mm Win Mag brass which I trim to .910. Works great.

Thank you. Maybe some day I'll find a Destroyer, but for the time being I'll stick with conservative pistol loads. Again, thanks for the advice and information.

Out of a destroyer you can saftely shoot 9mm Win mag and get deer killing ballistics out to 75 yards or so.Not in the pistol!!!!! I have an indepth artical on the destroyer..........................Harold

I also use .38 Super dies to reload 9mm Largo for my Destroyer carbine. Works fine for me. The most accurate loads used bullets sized to .358".
