9mm load recipe

I'm not sure if it's the right place to ask. I checked the reloading recipe section, but it seems to be some place for a long range recipe and load discussion.
I just blew 2K on reloading equipment, and had fun shooting one informal IPSC club match and I think I'm hooked.
I'm shooting a cz shadow 2 and will be shooting production division once I've done the BB course.
I have 2000 rds campro 124gr RN and 147gr RN, and have 2lb of CFE Pistol powder on hand. It would be nice to see some load data using aforementioned bullets and powder and use it as a reference.

Haven't tried the CFE pistol yet but here's my 9mm load for my CZ Shadow 2 using Campro 124 gr RN and Hogdon Titegroup.

124 gr Campro RN
3.9 Gr Titegroup
1.118 OAL
.376 crimp

Gives me about 129 - 130 PF. You can go lower and still make PF but when I did found I was sometimes having trouble taking steel down at distance unless I hit it just right in the calibration zone. So increased load to 3.9. - 3.95 gr TG and no more issues with steel. Use same load in in my Shadow, Walther PPQ 5" and P226 and groups and runs well with zero issues. Strongly suggest you case gauge check all yer rounds, especially for a match, as witness to many that do not only to discover problems during a match!

Using CFE powder I settled on;
124 gr Campro, 4.9 CFE (which is min recommended), 1.150 C.O.L.
147 gr Campro, 3.7 CFE (min rec) for practice. 1.096 C.O.L.
147 gr Campro, 4.1 CFE competition, longer distance steel plates

I shoot a Glock 17 and an FNS 9L (which I like better).

For Tightgroup, and 124 gr Campros, my all round load of choice is 3.9 gr and 1.150 C.O.L.
 
I use CFE Pistol for my 9mm loads also, once I'm back home this afternoon I'll post some of my loads for you.

One thing though, is that there's really no guarantee that the loads that work for me will be any good to you: it's totally dependent on your firearm.

To date, the best 9mm load I've found (I shoot a Beretta Cx4 Storm carbine) is using a .357" Hornady XTP (JHP) 110gr bullet (not the 9mm's normal .355"), with 5.9gr of CFE Pistol, Winchester Small Pistol Magnum primers at 1.140" OAL. With that load, I shoot 9 rounds out of 10 under 3" at 100m (front and back rest of course), which is about 2.6 MOA if I didn't foul up my numbers again. :)

I have some experience loading CFE in 9mm. I cant say I like it. It is a very "gassey" powder that is better suited for race guns and guys with comps. It has noticeably more recoil than faster burning powders such as Titegroup and N320. I found a bullet going 890 with Titegroup feels like a bullet going about 830 with CFE. Obviously this is unacceptable as it does not make PF.

To answer your question, my flat point 147gr CanPro load with CFE is 4.35 gr. Makes about 890-910 out of my 226 @1.11". Round nose bullets are a bit longer so you will have to extend OAL or cut your charge weight to 4.2-4.3 to get the same effect.
 
Some great load data posted above. I've never loaded CFE pistol but I know WAC data is interchangeable.

1.150 COL in 124 GR Campro RN might be to long for CZ shadow or Shadow 2 which are known for shorter chambers.

Others that I know have had a lot of probs with this length in their Shadow 2s.
 
Thanks everyone. It's nice to see all these recipes and I'll be sure to pick up some titegroup as well. I left my chrono at the range and I didn't know until I really needed it(yesterday) :( so thanks again for providing your recipe.

I've shooting factory stuff which has COL ranging from 1.15 to 1.157. I haven't encountered any problems but will keep that in mind.

I just loaded up some 124gr Campros behind 4gr Titegroup at 1.125" OAL to try out. No probs plunk testing in my S2 barrel. My previous load was 124gr RN behind 4.1gr Titegroup at 1.15" OAL and that made 130PF out of my Glock. I'll chrony the new load and see. Hopefully it falls in the 128-130PF.

Be careful about it all: I've listed the sites where I got the data from, and in the same way they do I'm not responsible for the future state of your gonads (or eyes, hands, face, etc.). Any mistake or typo is the fault of the gnomes under the desk. The two bullet weights marked with an asterix are actually .357" and .358" bullets, not 9mm, that's my own experiments. All I can say is that nothing has blown up in my face yet, but the century is still young!

Start low, increase the loads carefully as everyone here will tell you. Good luck!

This post shows you're inexperienced. Does your factory ammo use the exact same projectile? Hint...no. That information alone means there's no guarantee the CamPro's can be loaded SAFELY to the same length as your factory rounds. Even Trinimon's OAL information, although given with good intent, is completely useless to you and YOUR handgun. Re-read my post above and follow the instruction for finding the OAL that will work in YOUR handgun(s)!

5.1 gr CFE Pistol and Campro 124 gr rn @ 1.15 gives out an average of 1075 fps.
4.9 gr CFE Pistol and Campro 124 gr rn @ 1.12 gives out an average of 1040 fps.

I use CFE Pistol in the following: 32 ACP, 38 Special, 357 Magnum, and 40 S&W.

I also use AutoComp data for CFE in my 9mm.

There was a good article in a Handloader a while back on CFE Pistol. The author had contacted Hodgdon and was told it was safe to use but never exceed AutoComp data for CFE Pistol.
