9mm mishap

Heres what happened;

Showed father in law how to work press and select disc for lee pro auto powder measure.
Told him to weight first five then come see me as I had to shovel.
he then decided to load 120rds by the time I came in.

3.7 grains of powder - supposed to be 4.7

My question is can I use bullet puller to remove powder then reload powder and bullet or do I need to start all over and punch out a bunch of good primers?

Guess we both learned a valuable lesson.

Just pull the bullet. Redo the powder, and press the bullet back in..

I'd agree. If it's a safe load why not use them? I wouldn't go through all the effort to pull 120 rounds unless absolutely necessary.

Oh, and tell your f.i.l. not to disregards your advice. His screw-ups could cost him more than his pride.

This is what I thought too. If they will cycle the action just use them for practice loads.

It is a lot of work pulling that many bullets.

Under minimum load through a long barrel! That could have been bad.

If being used only in a carbine (pistol should be fine) probably best to just pull the bullets. Have the FIL do it.
There is a chance of the bullet sticking in the long barrel with a mild load.
I also load 9mm for a JR and keep all my loads for it in the mid to upper ranges.

What weight pills were you using? If you're shooting these through a pistol, they should be fine as a light load. I've shot as low as 2.9gr of Titegroup behind a 132gr LRN pill which averages out to 927fps through a 4.48" barrel from my chrony.

My 2.9gr Titegroup loads cycled my Glock, 92FS and Sig226 with zero hiccups. If the OP was using 115gr pills, they may have cycling issues.

I've put in 3.0 instead of 4.0gr of Titegroup under 124gr JHP and they shot and cycled fine in my CZ, Beretta and Sig.

Is this with 124 gr ? .. have some Tightgroup I'd like to try..usually use Bullseye.

For a young girl, who may or may not know the difference in a light enough shot to possibly leave the bullet lodged down the barrel, I wouldnt risk it, but thats me.
