Ive been asked by a friend to load 9mm.
He is willing to split on press and supplies if I will reload.
The issue I am running into is bullet selection.
His daughter shoots zmax which is basically ftx with green tip.
Being as Ive reloaded rifle ammo I assumed it would be easy to buy bullets the same as ammunition they sell.
To my surprise hornaday doesnt list a 9mm ftx bullet.
Am I missing something?
Is there anything ballistic tip for 9mm I can reload?
She uses a JR carbine and has had success with these to 80yds.

If I were you, I wouldn't go there....
Split on a press, and any other common tools, agree on a place to store / use them, and you both load your own.
Reloading ammunition for someone else opens up all sorts of liability questions.

I agree I wouldn't go there and I also don't think I would ever reload hornady bullets for cutting paper in 9mm waste of money IMHO

third to the above.

she must not shoot alot if she's only shooting zmax stuff $1/1 9mm no thanks!

very easy to get 125gr or 147gr XTP stuff for around $35/100 still to expensive for plinking though.

The paper or steel doesn't care what bullet you use. And there's lots of regular bullets that will shoot just as accurately. So ditch the idea of searching for boutique bullets. You and her simply do not need them.

EDIT- Oops just saw that she is using them from a JR carbine for coyotes. That alters things if you're taking down animals with these loads. Maybe check around for some other more easily found hollow point?

Cast your own hollow points!

I would love to cast but my wife would kill me if i take on another adventure lol.
I think ill load a hundred hornaday and 1000 berrys hollow points.
Cheap plinkers and they may shoot just as well.

Buy some hollow points, mix some acrylic caulk with green powdered paint or food colouring and put a dab in the cavity... That's the bulk version honey. :)
