I haven't seen the handgun but a friend that lives quite a ways away just purchased a new 9mm Para and tells me he's having problems with it jamming about every 3rd or 4th round. He tells me he's using 130gr factory ammo. Anyone have a similar problem with their 9mm Para and if so, what was the cause?

Many people have experienced this. The problem: It's a Para.

I own the LTC 9mm para and I have had no issues at all with it EVER and i have put a good amount of lead down the pipe in it.

I have fired 115, 147 and 127 not any issues. Wish i could help u just wanted to pipe up against the Para haters.

I spent a lot of time trying to sort out a similar problem on my 45. I eventually solved it. Take a look at the part that 'senses' an empty mag, mine had a sharp edge that actually would dig in to the bullet thus causing a jamb. It will generally cause a very small nick in the bullet but enough to cause a jamb. I carry a small file in my shooting bag to address problems like that.

Never had a problem with my Para LTC .45. I've put about 200rds of factory through it, and about 400 reloads. The previous owner put about 800 through it and never mentioned any problems.

I've heard some magazines can be finicky, maybe he should try another brand of magazine and see if that sorts it out.

Purchased a used .45 LTC Para from Gunnar at Armco earlier this year. It's my favourite .. great shooter no problems.

Loads ? always Sellier and Bellot 230 grain.
