9mm pistol: 147gr flat head vs 124gr

Why would 147g be more accurate than other bullet weights?

Rifling twist rates will favour one bullet weight over another. I remember reading somewhere that the twist rate in 9mm CZ pistols results in 115 gr bullets being the most accurate (everything else being equal).

Just got an SP-01 and fed it the following with no failures of any sort

-AE 115gr
-AE 124gr
-AE 147gr flat
-Blazer Brass 124gr
-Blazer CleanFire 124gr
-PMC 115gr
-Western Munitions 115 reloaded brass

Only discernible difference was the recoil. I saw on a few other forums that the twist rate is actually geared around 124gr. That said, anything in the CZ75 family will eat pretty much anything, and if you're seeing a difference in accuracy, the problem's probably you.

I have fired pail loads of 147 grain loads through my pre B CZ75 as well as through my CZ75 p07 duty. Never a problem and they are very accurate.

Just now checked back into this thread.

Thanks everyone for your help and suggestions. I appreciate it all.

Tonga, which SP-01 version did you get? And, do you happen to know if all the SP-01 9mm versions are the same in their barrels and triggers excluding of course the Canadian Special and expensive types? I read that the Tactical version, which I have or should say will have after transfer, has a heavier trigger pull because of the decocker.

Thanks

Test a sample.

Buy it cheap, stack it deep.

Ammunition pricing tends to rise faster than the consumer price index under normal circumstances.
Under abnormal conditions it tends to rise even faster relative to the CPI.

Galleon, I have the Plain Jane SP-01. Difference between it and the Tactical is safety vs decocker. Personally, I like the safety anyway. I've practiced with snap caps to make sure I can put the hammer down without discharging a round. I can't personally comment on the trigger pull of the Tactical but I've heard second hand that the trigger pull isn't as nice with the decocker.

Phantom is polymer with a decocker vs the other SP-01's being made of steel. SP-01 Shadow is smooth enough to want to marry it. I only went with the SP-01 cause the Shadow wasn't available anywhere around me at the time. That said, I have no regrets with my purchase. Happy shooting!

147 gr I have found to be as reliable as any other in any modern 9mm pistol.
have also noticed its the most accurate for some reason...all my nine's love it...very little recoil too

I shoot Winchester 147 grain hollow point ammo through all of my 9mm pistols. Never had any issues.
