I'm a left handed shooter and currently own a CZ 75b. I like the gun, but it ejects brass into my face on a regular basis. Any lefties out there with suggestions for another brand of 9mm pistol ??
I had a norinco 1911 9mm that did the same as the CZ, and sold it for the same reason.

Thanks, Newmer

I have been shooting left handed for 40+ years. Never ever had an issue with right handed pistols or rifles.
Maybe it is the way you hold the firearm?
I have both a CZ75B and a CZ85, neither of them have ever bounced a casing off my face.

Never had any such issue with CZ, Glock, Taurus, Colt, Beretta, Smith or Sig pistols. Every once in a while I get a case that ejects back towards me, but that's a rarity. I have noticed that some pistols tend to be ammo sensitive in terms of where, how forcefully, how far, and in what direction they throw their empties. Perhaps try an ammo change before buying a new gun.

I thought this would be more of a problem with a rifle or shotgun since you would be holding it on the left side of your body...unless you're one hand shooting with your strong hand, I don't really see this as an issue...is it?

Like others have said, it's got to be the way you're holding the pistol. I've had the odd one bounce off my noggin with various pistols. Every time it happened, it was the way I was gripping the pistol.
Adjust your grip and try again.

Thanks for the suggestions, I will try adjusting my grip. My ruger 1911 is fine, no issue, the glocks I've owned were fine also. Its just this CZ. Ammo does not seem to make a difference, reloads and factory do the same thing.

Im also a leftie, did you consider the Viking? It eject from the top and to the front iirc, the mag release can be put both sides and it comes at a really good price from a sponsor. :)

I don't understand. The gun should be directly in front of your body, at full arm's length. Shouldn't matter whether your strong hand is the left or right hand.

Why not try the Sti gp6 (grand power k100) been making it for a while, shoots great and fully ambi...... I also don't get how you are holding the pistol...... Pics up?
Good luck anyway.......

I agree with this. So that leaves the ejector as the culprit. It's likely a far lot cheaper to have a smith alter the angle on the end of the ejector a little so it sends the brass out more to the side than to sell the gun and buy another.

I'm right handed and I have cases bounce off of my head as well. I just figure it's something that'll happen from time to time and don't worry about it. I make sure to wear a ball cap to the range for this reason.
