It took me years, but I've run out of pistol powder.

I've been using Unique and or Win 231 in my 45 auto an 9mm loads for years with decent results.

So now I have to replenish my powder supply and I wonder if there's something newer/better. On the market that will work for both of these rounds.

For what its worth, I'm shooting 230 grain jacketed in the 45 and 115 or 124 grain jeacketed in the 9mm.

There is newer, but not necessarily better stuff.
You can give Titegroup a try...

I tried quite a few powders, but I came always back to the two you mentioned, Unique and W231.

I started using Titegroup last summer and I like it. Works for 45ACP, 9mm and 357 loads and burns cleaner than Unique. Lots of other powder choices like Universal, Bullseye, 700x etc.

I've been wondering the same thing. Looking for a versatile powder for the 9mm & 45ACP. Thanks for the input guys, now to actually find some!

I've been using Bullseye for both loads and still have a couple of pounds left, but have also bought 3 pounds of Titegroup to try when my Bullseye runs out. I should have enough to last for a while.....:)

I wanted Universal or Titegroup, but all I could find locally was Longshot. I'd love to hear about love/hate for this stuff.

Thanks for all the input guys. I think I'll likely try and find some 231.

Oh I also found an old 8 pound can of 700X I'd forgotten about from my trap shooting days.
According to the hogdon website it will work in both rounds.
I know I did try it in my first 45, but that thing (an old ruger P90) didn't feed anything well. Plus it seemed dirty.

Should I use it all up or just go get some 231?
