Well,

Small problem. I am shooting IPSC Quebec Provincials at the end of the month.... and I have never run through a chronograph before. So I am looking to others who have ran similar loads through to see what they where getting. I am a little concerned as I don't want to show up and shoot a big ZERO.

I think my wife's G34 will make it no problem due to longer barrel, but I am a little concerned about my Shadow.

Load
9mm
4.05Grs titegroup (10 charges thrown and weighed to give me average weight)
124Grs Canpro's (they actually all seem to weigh 123.3 +/- .5Grs)
Fed Sm Pistol Primer
Speer 1F Brass
COAL 1.150"

Anyone run fairly close load that has an idea of where it should land?
I have looked on the Brian Enos Forum, and some people seem to be running as low as 3.8Grs of Titegroup.... but I don't really trust their math as when I shoot that load I feel the steel targets sometimes hesitate.... and we all know that if you shoot steel and it does not go down, its a MIKE.

I would chrono them to be sure, the longer OAL may cut it close.
I loaded 124 gr Berry's RN to 1.148" over 4.1 gr Titegroup
Hit a power factor of 133

It really doesn't matter what PF someone else gets out of their gun, it's what PF you get out of your gun.

I run chrono at some major US matches and recommend that the PF you want is about 133 from YOUR gun. Air temperature and air density play a big factor in velocities.

What I'm saying is, run your ammo through your gun over a chrono.

Yes it is long, yes I did chamber check it. I have ran 10 to 12K of that load but mixed brass through the gun with no hiccups attributed to the ammo. The can pro bullets profile does not seem to engage the rifling in my gun and will drop free no problem. I have had problems though with 147Grs loaded to that OAL lengths contacting the rifling in my shadow.

Running titegroup with a 124-125 grain bullet for me would need 4.4 grains for a comfortable 135 PF out of my shadow with a 1.100" OAL. My G17 shoots that same load around 100 fps faster than the shadow.
As said, ymmv.
I have never ran into problems at the chrono station, but did come close once with an un-tested load coming in at 126pf.

Ran through the Chronograph and bad news.

Glock 34 made a 5 shot average of 1029.5 FPS @ 123.3 Grs = 126.94 PF
CZ SP-01 Shadow made 5 shot average of 990.2 FPS @ 123.3 Grs = 122.09 PF

At least I have a little bit of ammo that will be great for calibrating steel.

I will move up to 4.15Grs of Titegroup and I think that will make power factor a little easier. Vs the 4.05 Grs I was running for this load.

I tested another load both seemed that the Glock would give an extra 4 to 5 PF over the SP-01 so I might begin loading them with different ammo to ensure that both guns are getting same PF

Why not just prepare ladder : 4.2, 4.3, 4.4, 4.5, if that doesn't exceed maximum load, and run that test thru the chroni next time ?

I think you should just try 4.1gr and shorten up the load to about 1.12 or even 1.10.

I have the following:

CamPro 124, TG 4.0, WSP, at 1.130: gives me PF of 130 in my Shadow.....BUT same round, throw the same Chrony (same day, same shooter) gave us PF of 118 in GP X-Calibur.......

I am working at acquiring a chrony off here. Then I will work developing a load for the Shadow and for the G34 to get both guns to 130 to 135 PF respectively. I will start playing the OAL Length Variations and Powder charge weight. I almost need a since stage press for this to play with this as it is a bit of a pain the ass to toy with things like this with my dillon 1050

124 grn FMJ and 4.3 grn of Titegroup is a load that always delivers in all of my 9mms whic includes Glock, CZ etc.

My OAL is 1.10" for those firearms. I go to 1.15" for my STI. Recoil is a snap ans cycleing is a guarantee so here I stand 4.3 grns of TG.
