9mm purchase advise/options

I went with the Shadow with a Kadet Kit as my first. It's a fantastic pistol it has a great trigger and the extra weight helps with the recoil. I love being able to switch back and forth between 9mm and .22lr and practice inexpensively. My Shadow's not going anywhere but I'm looking at picking up and M&P 9mm, I've had the opportunity to shoot a few and they are alot of fun. It's a totally different gun, striker fire, the trigger is much heavier but it's got a great grip and it's very light. If I had to do it again I'd still buy the Shadow first, but both great guns.

First of all you need to figure out if you want steel/hammer or polymer/striker. Then you can decide between glock, xd, mp for polymer or beretta, cz, sig, highpower for steel

Hey guys, I am in the market for a 9. I wont be doing any competitive shooting but want a good accurate pistol. I have approximately 1000 dollar budget, I like the CZ shadow, but am just curious what are the other options? This will be my first 9, I have 4 1911s(in the only caliber that 1911s should be....45) and wouldnt mind some cheaper shooting. I do like all steel pistols but its not a must, I am not a glock fan though.

I have several 1911's too.

Half of them are 45s. I have some in 9mm and .22LR too. Can't go wrong with a little variety little buddy.

I love a good 1911... had them in everything from 9mm to 45 to 10mm... :) But CZ/Jericho/tangfolio are a great gun, as are USPs... I'm just closing the deal on a K100, and been looking at M&P's... My bet is if you like 1911s you won't enjoy Glocks, but I could be wrong :) I just can't like the grip angle it never feels natural, but they sure are a reliable piece of kit.

My very first firearm purchase was a Beretta 92FS in 9mm. To this day it's still one of my favourite firearms. I have since purchased a CZ SPO-1 Shadow in 9mm, and it is also amazing. If I was to purchase another pistol, it would be in a larger calibre, but for 9mm, I am more than content with these two firearms.

I would recommend the Shadow over the Beretta due to the Beretta's trigger travel, which is longer.

M&P9 is a great gun, so is the Glock 17 and the 19. In metal framed guns I really like the Turkish Beretta clone, almost half the cost of a Beretta and the one I handled was at least as well made as the Italian that I was comparing it to. Keep in mind that guns like the Beretta, Sig and CZ have a DA/SA trigger that will require more of you than you're used to with your 1911's.
