Shadow is one of the best if not the best for IPSC/USPSA and Blueline has them at very good price right now.

The gun can be customized for low $$ to give you even more advantage in competitive shooting.

You can swap hammer, springs, grips (to thinner ones), and get excellent shooter.

I didn't bother with hammer on mine and still am very happy so far.

I'm the same size as you nav and I found most of the pistols I tried to be small in my hands.

The two exceptions were a Sig and a Beretta 92fs.

I was going to suggest the Beretta 92 they are surprisingly large in the grip.
Some of the new polymers  have interchangable backstraps to accomodate all size hands. M&P or SIG?
The full size Sigs are pretty large too.

looking for opinions on what to get as i have applied for my upgrade

i am looking for 9mm..i am 6.2 200lbs and equally large hands...i dont have the luxury of trying out different pistols....

glock
h&k
sig

or what other makes would you recommend....

Go Sig or Glock. I went Glock and I have never had a malfunction. 2000+ rounds and counting. Shooting Federal American Eagle ammo.
