Does anyone have any experience with Remington UMC 124 gr FMJ and/or PPU (Prvi Partizan) 115gr FMJ 9mm ammo? I'll be shooting it through an M&P 9.

They're both the same price per 1000, and I've Googled as much as I could find on each. Both seem to get decent (yet brief) reviews for range ammo. My gut says to go with a domestically produced ammo first, but it's hard to ignore the positive reviews of the PPU. In general, 124gr ammo seems to get better reviews for accuracy, and a less snappy recoil, though I'm not sure how much truth there is to these claims.

Any opinions would be appreciated.

Thanks!

went through 1000 UMC, now going through my 1000 PPU, both can produce very good groups. quarter sized groups at 7yards. Recoil does feel different. having shot a case of one then switching over to a case of something different I'm pretty sure I just ended up adjusting to "climatize" to the other. Can't go wrong with either.

I'm currently trying to decide which is more accurrate out of Blazer 124, Sellier and Belliot 124. Picked up a case of each recently from www.GoTenda.com

Edit: never tried from an M&P9, but both cycles fine through Norinco NP29, HK SFP9, and Grand Power X-Calibur.

I've shot both through my M&P9 - I used Remington for a PLG advanced course a couple of years ago, worked well. I've had no issues with either. Both are as good as the gun/shooter. I like Prvi brass better for reloading.

Unfortunately no one here will be able to let you know which bullet weight YOUR M&P will prefer. Both brands are reputable. With that said 124gr is a very popular weight in 9mm.

P.S. Recoil is more than just bullet weight, powder type and load weight matter a lot, but GENERALLY (and in the interest of simplicity) the heavier the bullet the lighter the felt recoil. More information available at http://38super.net/Pages/Recoil.html
