Hello,

I got my restricted license in the mail the week after handguns were banned, so I missed the boat with that type of target shooting. I recently just started looking to try and find a 9mm rifle so I can get the same type of fun at the range, but I am having a hard time even finding the right place to purchase these guns.

Does anyone have any recommendations where I can buy new rifles that shoot 9mm rounds or even something similar?

Thanks!

.38 Special is a similar shooting experience to 9mm. Shooting from a ".357 Mag tacticool lever" rifle can be almost as fast and fun as a semi-auto PCC. Rifle costs: low end $900, high end $2,500.

.357 ammo (from the same rifle) has more punch and buying bulk brings it to similar price of .38SP bought off the shelf (but ~40% more than bulk 9mm). .357 has benefits over 9mm for other scenarios and considerations.

at this point I don't even know if there any 9mm pcc left that we can buy.. gone are the time of having fun with cheap ammo

This is correct as far as I am aware.

If you want a semi auto carbine, you could also consider rimfire. The Ruger 10/22 is an awesome platform. Super customizable and about as cheap as it gets to shoot nowadays.
If you can find one, there's the Marlin camp carbine in 9mm.

But you probably won't ever find one for sale.

It should be mentioned that the Henry Homesteader will very likely be banned in the near future. It's the last 9mm PCC left standing.

I'm not saying don't buy it... Just making sure you're aware.

With how tame looking the Henry Homesteader is (non tactical looking, not black, wood etc) that would be a surprise but with the hysterical donkeys currently in office it doesn't have to make sense.

The Ruger Mini 14 looks kinda tame too but now it is Verboten. I know it has a special focus owing to its history in Canada.

Nothing makes sense with a slimy, corrupt, tyrannical Liberal!…:(

Eventually they are coming for all of our firearms….:(

They can’t help being b@g-lickers!

While i certainly wouldn't be surprised if it gets banned, it did somehow make it past the last couple of bans that took basically all the other 9mm carbines.

That said, I'm in no hurry to buy one. I only got to the range once before they banned my Ruger PCC, and I'm too poor to keep having guns i just bought banned.

I believe the market is ripe for a 9x19 Bolt action or straight pull rifle.
It shouldn't be too difficult to convert from designs like sterling, colt etc...

9mm rifles lend themselves to high speed shooting with the relatively cheap ammo, 10 round pistol mags and low recoil (which is why PCC made so much sense).

Bolt guns and even straight pull don't really tick the high speed box, for me bolt guns are all about accuracy and I doubt 9mm could be super accurate.

Maybe a lever or pump would be a better fit?

Still cant believe we are even talking about these kind of options. 10 years of dumb government has completely changed the firearm landscape.

I don't bother with centerfire semi autos anymore. The RCMP can and will prohibit them overnight without warning. I don't want to spend 1500 on some turkish crap that will be worthless.
