9mm Steyr

Got anything in .38 Super ? When I had trouble finding 9mm Steyr brass, I was told that .38 Super would work fine. I tried it and it did. I expect that it would work the other way round. I also expect that .38 Super would typically be hotter than 9mm Steyr - but that's only guess - I really don't know - but if it is, it may mean that .38 Super shells, may be a bit "stouter" than 9mm Steyr ? - another guess.

It's probably more useful to someone that needs Steyr brass if you don't have need yourself. 9mm Ultra, 9x19 and the Largo cartridge are all quite different from each other. The Largo is somewhat similar to the Steyr with one-way compatibility being typical if not two-way.

I would guess .38 Auto would be close to 9mm Steyr. .38 Super is the hot stuff.

And now I'm wondering if 9mm Steyr ammo would work in a .38 Auto gun but the semi rim case might be a requirement.

Update: Just tried putting a 9mm steyr case in a .38 Auto Colt and it wouldn't extract. Tried putting a .38 Super case into a 9mm Steyr and it seems like the case semi rim liked to get caught up on the magazine feed lips. .38 Super brass would probably work perfect in a Steyr if the semi rim was lathed off...
