I am looking for a new 9mm pistol, if I had to describe what I'd like it would be:

All steel
Built like a tank
reliable
good quality
soft shooting
easy maintenance

What would come to mind to you fellow nutters.

Much appreciated.

What they ^^ said. Perhaps also look at the Sig Sauer P226 or even the Browning hi Power MkIII which is certainly built like a tank.....

Anything CZ! Everyone has their own preference, but over the years I have owned a Ruger P85, Browning Hi-Power, Tanfoglio, 1911, Glock 19, Beretta 92FS, and three CZ's all in 9mm. These are all excellent firearms, but the only nines I have stuck with and found to be the best shooters were my CZ's. You can really notice the quality and workmanship put inot these guns. The first CZ I have ever bought was a CZ75 back in 1994 when they were extremely difficult to find. I ended up selling it for a profit two years later, and regretted it for many years. It was the ONLY sale that I ever regretted :(. Now I own an SP-01 and recently a shadow 2, and I will never part with them!

Another vote for CZ75...the SP01 or Shadow will be the softest shooting. You could also think about a 1911 in 9mm--I've had good luck with an STI Trojan and Spartan. The stainless SIG P226s are all-steel, too, and are high quality, easy-shooting pistols.

CZ 75B because I don't have a Shadow for sale.:>)

The CZ 75 is a proven design, well made, accurate and have ample after market parts to satisfy the most ambitious tinkerer.

For a Best Buy - Girsan either the full size of compact.

I had a Beretta 92. I believe it was made of some kind of cast material. So if you are wanting "all steel", I am assuming cast does not fit the bill. CZ 75 series gets my vote.

Sig Sauer P226 gets my vote. I don't like how little slide there is to grab onto on the CZ's myself, and you can't get any easier of a take down than the P226

The 92 and Sig 226 are cast aluminum alloy frames. The 75B has a cast steel frame. All three are excellent choices depending on personal preference.
