9mm vs 40s&w in pistol caliber carbine

pistol caliber carbines are nothing more than a gimmick or smg wannabes- you wouldn't /shouldn't hunt with them, so that makes you take it to the range- some of the provincial hunting regs get around this by specifying a MINIMUM cartridge length- on the other hand, the 38/357 and 44 mag lever carbines can be downright handy in certain situations

Pistol calibre carbine effectiveness is not an opinion. It's not your favourite colour. You don't just get to say something and pretend it is true. The "Chicago Typewriter" sworn by military, law enforcement, and the liquor industry for a third of a century. One of dozens of pistol calibre carbines that have turned tides in human conflicts. "Gimmick"......unreal!

IMO a carbine should be in rifle caliber only. Just my 2 cents

Oddly enough, one looks back at both the early lever-action carbines and the early lever-action rifles, and finds they each fired pistol cartridges.

Getting additional performance out of pistol cartridges by utilizing carbine-sized firearms is nothing new.

Guns are for more than hunting, friend. Many of us enjoy shooting without needing to vape critters.

I bought a JR 45 because I reload and didn't think a 9mm would give the fun factor. I'd like to shoot a JR or TD in 9mm and be proven wrong.

45 works with RN ammo only, preferably 230gr. I did some dicking with my mags and have it functioning fairly reliably. I'd probably not recommend it unless you're willing to de-quirk one a little.

Wait for a sale or buy used. I think prices are pretty top drawer for what you're getting.

Though "vaping critters" is admittedly pretty cool.....
