Hard to even compare an AR to the sub2000. Love the sub2k. Light, tough, NR, cheap ammo, fun to shoot. All this talk about not being powerful enough; for what, cardboard and paper targets? Energy isn't a factor when the only thing you'll ever shoot with your rifle, can also be found in your recycle bin.
As far as shooting long distances goes; not many people shoot past 100 yards anyways. Most people shoot 100, the rest shoot at 50 with maybe a couple guys sitting at the 300yd bench once in awhile.
Wouldn't spend the kind of money they want for a JRC or TD, at that point you may as well shell out for a decent AR.
The sub2k has really come down in price and there always seems to be one kicking around on the EE. Sure, it is a bit 'gimmicky' and the pistol grip feels like you could crush it if you squeezed hard enough. But, since I've had mine, the more I try to abuse it, the more it seems to love me back.
