__ Glock finish issue - what to do ?

I know folks worry about retaliation but the feedback system won't work if we don't use it properly.

Beananator; who sold you the gun? Feel free to PM me, I don't want to fall victim of this clown.

As a FYI here is a complete copy of the add ( no longer up ) however this thread was created to try to get info on refinishing options
Couple of great ideas mentioned like cerakote & hard chroming
The seller has graciously offered me 1 day to except a refund lol

Glock G22C, Compensated
the G22c barrel is new, I never fired this gun in .40. I think. Will say 20 .40 cal rounds fired.
Only 800 rounds fired with 9mm barrel. 9mm barrel NOT included. Add $100 if you want 9mm barrel.
4 G22 mags, 1x 10 round, like new 20 rounds fired, with magpul ranger plate and 3x 10/15 mags, well used but work 100%
Extended mag release
SS pin kit
SS Extended slide release
3.5 pound trigger kit
Stock sights

SPF
shipped to most places
EMT is king

Absent from the ad is a detailed description of the gun condition so difficult to say the seller deliberately misrepresented. More a question of omitting facts which puts onus on buyer to ask. still a little shady.

These marks are from the sights being installed...and not in very profesional way. However there is no way that corrossion will set in, as Tennifer is a steel treatment, not the finish. You can wear out the finish, but the metal still will be protected. Glock is super easy to work on, so just check all the critical components (firing pin, trigger, magazine release button) and you good to go. If you are not sure about the condition of the pistol on EE, detailed pictures may help a lot. Indeed "excellent" or "like new" description is very different for different people. In fact I've got a few flukes myself, even from "reputable" dealers. When it comes to the used guns it's like lottery. May go great...or you may lose your money. Good luck!

got a quote for hard chrome and I'm leaning towards that route , I don't think I'll get a exact match in a factory black colour so I might as well try something different. I asked the seller if he'd be interested in sharing this cost ( $50 each ) and was not so politly told "Stop trying to blackmail me. I have reported this to the mods. "

oh well all is not lost. In the end I do still have a glock , it will be enjoyed & used . Atleast it wasn't stippled with an ice pick :)

I want to thank all the members that gave helpful suggestions on coatings , ceracote is still a thought - I like the idea of the almost porcelain / self lubercating quality but not interested in colours other than the original black coating .

I promise when this is complete I will post pictures of the finished product and where it was done and costs for those that are likeminded and want to refinish a pistol.

----- Merry Christmas to everyone on CGN :)

Seller deliberately left that out. That being said, was there no pictures? Did you not request pictures?
Judging by the OP's high Feedback count I would say he did his homework but in the end still got a raw deal. Send it back and deal with someone more reputable.
On the other hand the odds of getting screwed by yahoos on the EE (no matter how many times)is always there…..but I digress.

Howdy Mr. Bean. You can get the slide Cerakoted for 70.00. I just did a couple glock Lone wolf slides and they look great. We can meet at the usual place. ( your driveway ). Look at my signature. Cheers.

If you're not happy with the finish and the seller offered to return your money, why not take him up on it? Am I missing something?

Couple of things of why I didn't just "JUMP" on his offer ( made much after the sale and not right away when I mentioned the issue RIGHT after receiving the pistol )

First ; is that I WANTED a 22C , didn't just want to go through the motions of buying / transferring / shipping / waiting - just to return it the next day without trying to find solutions

Second ; is the deception ( either accidental or deliberate ) and having to further deal with the same person and his " promise " to refund ( maybe in full ? shipping both ways ? )

- thanks going out to MustangFrank - and I'd love to see this in person * my drive way is a little far , could you make it any closer ?

true, but kind of a long life for a 'finish' thread, specially when the op already found a solution for it -apparently-. Just joking though.
It is just that I don't see nearly as many necro posts as I do in the rifle section. There you see some really hilarious resurrections

Lol thread was started only two weeks ago, how is that necro posting?
