A 22, a 270, a 9.3X62, and a 12 Gauge........variation on a theme.

My choice of a .22, is a centerfire, probably a .223 or a .222 magnum, that I can handload across the spectrum from a rimfire to a caribou gun. I'd ditch the .270 since the cartridge hasn't been a lucky one for me, opting instead for a .280 Ackley. The 9.3X62 is a great cartridge, and is not likely to be upstaged by anything similar.

I'd have a tough time giving up my Ultra, but Ted did pose a theoretical question. That said, a Wagner or a Scovill rifle could be made lighter and handier.
